Former Australian Test cricketer is in the news again for the wrong reasons. On Wednesday, he was charged with breaching a restraining order.

New South Wales State police stated that Michael Slater for the second time after reports he allegedly breached the restraining order, known as an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO).

He was taken to the Sydney police station and was set to appear in court on the same day.

According to some reports he was arrested after allegedly sending 66 text messages and making 18 calls which is a breach of an apprehended violence order. A prosecutor described those messages as ‘harassing and highly offensive in nature. However, his lawyer defended him that Slater had slipped up once by relapsing with alcohol.

Michael Slater represented Australia in 74 Tests and 42 ODIs

And noteworthy point is that Michael Slater was arrested on October 12 over allegations of domestic violence.

The cricketer turned commentator Michael Slater has represented in 74 Tests and 42 ODIs, scoring 5312 and 987 runs respectively. He played his last Test for Australia in 2001. In 2004 he announced retirement from all kinds of professional cricket. Post-retirement he has been doing commentary stints on various platforms.
