He continued wrestling in independent circuit alongside helping Khali’s promotion in India, Continental Wrestling Entertainment before returning to WWE in 2016. The next year remained career-changing for him as he defeated Randy Orton at Backlash to win the WWE Championship. A 170-day reign followed before AJ Styles took it away. Since then, his career has only gone towards downward direction. However, he could not have a better option to work elsewhere than WWE. The fans in India would also be happy to learn this.
WWE has been on the receiving end of troublesome experiences while signing talents in recent times. Their backstage atmosphere has said to be in an extremely mess with All Elite Wrestling has a lot to do with it. Talents are considering this new promotion as a suitable replacement for the WWE.
But they still managed to sign some of the talents including Jinder Mahal. Apart from him, Mojo Rawley and Mike & Maria Kanellis are the notable names who signed multiple years’ contract with the company.
