Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has made a bold prediction ahead of the mega auction as he believes that Australia opener David Warner won’t be getting more than INR 4 crore.

Notable that David Warner is among the 10 marquee players who will go under the hammer right at the beginning of the auction as he set his base price of 2 crores. Warner was previously associated with the Sunrisers Hyderabad but with the poor numbers in last season, the franchise decided to part ways with the star opener. He also led them to a title win in the 2016 season.

Over the years, David Warner has proved himself as the most successful overseas batsman as he scored 5449 runs in 150 matches with a strike rate of 139.96 which included 4 hundreds and 50 fifties. He was also named the ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the last T20 World Cup when Australia won their maiden title.

The mega auction is all set to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. On his youtube channel, Brad Hogg has tried to pick the brain of the franchises as he made some predictions for the auction. Hogg believes that Shami will be high in demand as he would get more than 5 crores.

“All 10 teams will be very aggressive going after Shami, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is up about the 5 Cr mark or more. Don’t see Warner going for anything more than 4 Crore,” Brad Hogg said.

Shami was previously associated with Punjab Kings as he led their attack for 3 years. In 42 matches, he picked 58 wickets with an economy of 8.25. He has been consistently part of India’s test team but he hasn’t played any white-ball game since the T20 World Cup.

Hogg also suggested that India’s premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin would fetch a good amount. Ashwin has been part of the Delhi Capitals for the past two years as he picked 20 wickets in 28 matches with an economy of 7.54

Ashwin, very economical with the ball, good lower-order batter, last year did not pick up the wickets, but still a very valuable player. I think he will go for 5-7 crores,” he added.
