India won the second test match against Australia by 6 wickets, Men in Blue is now leading by 2-0 against Pat Cummins-led side in ongoing the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Virat Kohli posted an impressive 44 runs in the first innings of the Delhi test match, he scored 20 odd runs in the second innings. Former Indian top-order batter Gautam Gambhir praised Kohli’s effort in the second test match despite the fact, Kohli only scored 60 or 65 runs in both stints.
Gambhir made a massive remark on Kohli’s effort in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy
“You will have all sorts of dismissals when you have longevity but the good thing is the control we got to see in the first innings. Virat Kohli has batted exceptionally well in this Test match, although he might have scored only 60 or 65 runs in two innings,” said former cricketer cum analyst Gambhir.
Former Indian skipper Kohli struck four boundaries in his 44-run knock in the first innings. He was given out leg-before-wicket in slightly controversial circumstances as the ball seemed to hit his bat and pad almost at the same movement.
“I have said earlier as well that nothing gives you more confidence than runs, but for someone who has been playing cricket for such a long time, how he is batting is equally important. I believe runs will come in the upcoming matches if he bats with the same rhythm,” said left-handed batter Gambhir.

India’s talisman Kohli completed 25,000 runs in international cricket in the Delhi test match, becoming only the sixth batter to touch the landmark and the fastest cricketer to do so. The 34-year-old Kohli has broken former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record by reaching this feat in 549 innings, Tendulkar achieved this milestone in 577 test match innings.
Indian top-order batter Kohli’s form is crucial for Asian giants for reaching World Test Championship final. Rohit Sharma-led side will now be looking to win the third test match of four test match series to secure their place in the WTC final. Team India will take on Pat Cummins-led Australia for the next test match at Indore on March 1st.
