IPL 2023: Punjab Kings Full Squad, New Players, Retained Players And Released Players

Punjab Kings squad: After yet another dismal campaign in IPL 2022, Punjab Kings will be desperate to start fresh and put up a better performance in IPL 2023. Punjab Kings once again failed to make it to the playoffs last season.

They finished at the 7th spot after managing 7 wins and as many losses in the league stage. And to ensure that they do well in IPL 2023, Punjab Kings have decided to make big changes to their squad.

Ahead of the IPL mini-auction, they have released as many as 9 players including their star opener Mayank Agarwal. Punjab entered the auction with a purse of Rs 32.2 crore and with 9 slots to fill including 3 overseas ones.

As far as auction is concerned, it took place on December 23 in Kochi. Originally, 991 players had registered for the auction before the list was reduced to 405 players, out of which 273 are Indians, 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations.

Before the auction, the ten franchises retained 163 players whereas 85 players were released from their existing squads.
