Former legend Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham at any cost. Carragher has suggested that Liverpool should start focusing on signing the English midfielder in the summer transfer window. Bellingham will cost Liverpool around £90 million and tough competition from other Premier League top-six giants.
The 18-year-old box-to-box midfielder continues to grow as one for the future prospect since his rise to German football last season. Former Birmingham academy graduate has been in sensational form for the Bundesliga giants this season. He has scored 3 and assisted 5 goals in 16 league matches this season to keep his side alive in the title race. Dortmund are just 6 points behind leaders Bayern Munich and will push hard till match week 34 to end Bavarians’ title-winning streak.

It is no secret that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is looking for a next-gen midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window. Liverpool lost Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer and proceed to the current season without any replacement.
Liverpool might also lose the 36-year-old James Milner whose contract expires after six months. Skipper Jordan Henderson will be 32 the next summer so investing big in generation-defined midfielder will be a priority for the Reds in the upcoming summer.
Liverpool have identified a few targets already and sending scouts to keep an eye on their progress. Barcelona starlet Gavi is another prospect Liverpool are very much interested in. Dortmund sold another English sensation, Jadon Sancho, to Manchester United last summer for a reported fee of £77 million. Star striker Erling Haaland is also subject to leave in the summer when his release clause of £64 million gets activated in summer. Dortmund have failed to hold on to young prospects at Signal Iduna Park and it’s proving a major difference between them and Bayern Munich.
Bellingham has already made 10 appearances for the Three Lions and was part of the recently concluded Euro 2020 setup. So he will cost £90 million minimum, almost twice to Gavi and Tchouameni, but the Reds will benefit from having a native player in their midfield. Liverpool are also nurturing youngsters Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones with consistent rotational chances in the first-team.
