John Cena appears on the February 28th episode of Smackdown ending a long wait of the WWE Universe. Being the franchise player of the WWE, the Cenation Leader has always been a must-see name at Wrestlemania seasons. There has been an exception in this tradition in 2019 as he made a one-off appearance. But it seems like he is back on WWE TV for the upcoming weeks, going by the current updates.
The Wrestling Observer assured the fans that John Cena wrestling at Wrestlemania 36 is a lock by all means,
“Cena returns on the 2/28 Smackdown show and has already said he’s free to wrestle at WrestleMania. Cena’s role is said to be locked in for the show.”
It is evident that the 16-time world champion will be entering an angle upon returning on Smackdown, within two weeks. His inclusion in the mix has opened the gates of multiple ideas for the WWE creative team. We can now expect him to see a dream match at the show of shows.
Goldberg is also available on the fray as he is set to face The Fiend Bray Wyatt in Saudi Arabia for the Universal Title. There’s no concrete update on whether he would win the gold at Super ShowDown but he is likely to be available around the biggest season of the year.
Wrestle Votes reported that WWE is considering nurturing multiple possibilities including four top WWE Superstars on Smackdown. They are Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, Goldberg, and John Cena. There are a couple of combinations that they could go with and thus one of them could become John Cena taking on Goldberg.
“Some smoke around these 4 superstars and their Mania placements. Nothing definitive, but they could be tied together. How would you like to see if play out?
Wyatt vs Reigns for the title & Cena vs Goldberg – OR – Wyatt vs Cena for the title (record #17) & Reigns vs Goldberg?”

So, there is also a chance that John Cena makes history by becoming a 17-time world champion which makes Wrestlemania even bigger. For now, we have to wait for Super Showdown to see how the Universal title match goes by. The Fiend is the favorite there and goes on to face Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 36.
