It looks like the 2019 King of the Ring winner is holding on to a personal grudge to make a name for himself while starting a mega feud on SmackDown. King Baron Corbin took to Twitter this past evening and issued a demand to Roman Reigns ahead of WWE SmackDown. This eventually led to an attack during the opening contest of the night and thereby producing the main event match of the show, as well.
As seen on the FOX premiere episode of SmackDown The Rock returned to WWE TV after a long time to confront King Baron Corbin. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch also accompanied him to make a mockery out of the so-called King of the WWE. The two babyfaces then delivered a beatdown on Corbin to ‘Lay the smacketh’ down’ in vintage Rocky-style. Apparently, the victim is not over the incident.
So he took the social media to lash out on Roman Reigns who is the real-life cousin of The Rock. He demanded an apology on behalf of the Great One with the following statements,
“Man, it is good to be King,” Corbin said in the video. “And as your king, I wanna talk to you about respect. It’s something I demand from all of you and it’s respect. Now, two weeks ago The Rock showed up on SmackDown and utterly disrespected me. Now, The Rock’s not here for me to demand an apology from, but someone related to him is. Someone who’s riding his coattails all the way to Hollywood. Roman Reigns – you’re going to apologize on his behalf and you’re going to do it tonight. Tonight, you’re going to get down on one knee and apologize to your king. All hail, King Corbin.”
Roman Reigns responded and knocked King Corbin for wearing that stupid crown which makes him think that he is the king of the WWE. Well, Corbin did not take the matter in a joking way and cost Reigns a title opportunity on SmackDown.
As announced earlier, last night’s SmackDown featured an opening contest where Roman Reigns challenged the Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura for the title. The challenger was in full control of the match and fingertips away from a big win until King Corbin interfered. He hit Reigns with a scepter to disqualify the match and also delivered a beatdown on the Big Dog, thereafter.
After what transpired on the show, a feud between Roman Reigns and King Corbin seems imminent on the blue brand. WWE officials must be high on the bonafide heel after his big King of the Ring win and they want him to go toe to toe against the prime babyface of the roster. It will be interesting to see which one of them stands tall once the rivalry gets over.
