She used to compete in the bikini contests around the circuit and that is the reason which keeps her on top the fitness, all the time.

WWE RAW announcer Corey Graves had the pleasure of talking to Mandy Rose on After The Bell podcast where she revealed her struggle to the top. The Golden Goddess even had to impress the judges before finding fame in the squared circle as she was invited to try bikini championships.

The New Yorker eventually ended up winning the bikini contest as well as coming up first in a bodybuilding event in Boston. As explained by Mandy Rose, getting into the bikini modeling competition circuit was a pretty random one. It happened by accident and she decided to give a tryout for it.
This appeared to be the rightmost choice that gave her career an unexpected push. Shorty a year after this happened, WWE signed her up in a multi-year deal.

“It was really random. It was actually a friend from work that I was waitressing with and she’s like you should start training with my coach and it’s a lot of fun you get to walk on stage. I didn’t know much about it and I was like, ‘I don’t know if that’s something I really wanna do.” I’m kinda like a free bird where I’m like I could try it and see what I really fell in love with was obviously the fitness side of it and like getting my body in shape and I was always athletic growing up, but I never really knew like bodybuilding and strength training.”
“When I got involved in that my coach right away was like, ‘you need to do a show’ and I’m like, ‘okay what does a show consist of?’ She’d show me these videos and pictures of these girls you know like walking in stripper heels and that’s what it looked like at the time — I was like, ‘I don’t know about this.’ There was a show in Boston which was not far from me in New York and I was like, ‘okay, let’s train for it.’”
“I ended up doing it, and I place first and like I said I just did my thing and had a good presence on stage and they liked what they saw and I placed first. I mean no big deal or anything.”
The funny thing is that Mandy Rose messed around and still managed to grab the first position. Moving forward, she entered the WWE scene by participating in the Tough Enough show which was the last season ever hosted in 2015.

She came up short in winning this but got a lucrative deal to feature on WWE TV. Even before joining the main roster, she was offered to be part of the starcast of WWE Total Divas.
It was the only time in the history of reality TV show broadcasted on E Network that a rookie who was not on TV got to hang out with big names of the Women’s Division. Since then, Mandy Rose didn’t have to look back in her career. Perhaps a few know that she tried her luck in bikini contests.
