As seen in this past week’s episode of SmackDown, Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship was announced for WrestleMania 36. It was also announced that “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt will take on John Cena on the same night in a special attraction matchup. For both these matches, the outcomes seem to be pretty clear, as of now.

Hall Of Famer Edge’s Return Officially Announced For WWE Raw
WWE storyline will have to deal with future aspects where the two part-time wrestlers will go back to hiatus whereas the two mainstay names will carry forward the SmackDown brand. It is pretty sure that the two top names of the blue brand will pick up the respective wins in the scheduled bouts which in turn will decide the course for the WWE Championship, moving forward.
Major Updates On 2020 WWE Elimination Chamber Match Card After Smackdown
According to the Wrestling Observer, The Fiend Bray Wyatt is set to defeat John Cena at WrestleMania 36. He would then begin his pursuit to regain the Universal Championship. On the other hand, Roman Reigns is scheduled to defeat Goldberg to become a 2-time Universal Champion at WrestleMania 36.
This does mean that Roman Reigns vs The Fiend Bray Wyatt feud is evident on SmackDown following WrestleMania 36. However, WWE might not book Reigns vs. Fiend, straight away after the biggest event of the year. Rather, chances are high that they could end up having a long build-up for the program. It would then culminate in a Title match at SummerSlam 2020.
All of these are just speculations, for now as WWE often changes plans depending on the current scenarios. Originally, the plan was to host Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. But given the potential of this feud, it’s a smart decision to have a long program between the two cornerstone figures of the blue brand which could consummate major part of 2020, following the ‘show of shows.’
Speaking of WrestleMania 36, the top feud for the show will now feature Roman Reigns and Goldberg leading up to the event. As noted by WrestleVotes, WWE Raw Executive Director, Paul Heyman will have a major influence in this program as he shares very good rapport with Goldberg,
“Although the match is on the SmackDown side of the card, Paul Heyman will have some influence on the build & storyline for the Goldberg vs Roman Reigns Universal Title matchup at WrestleMania. Heyman shares very strong relationships with both, especially Goldberg.”
