Last Thursday night, WWE pulled off a huge shocker as they crowned a new United States Champion in the form of Andrade at a non-televised house show.
It was a live event hosted at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden where the new Mexican sensation defeated Rey Mysterio to win his first singles title on the main roster.

It was indeed shocking since Rey Mysterio was over with the audience as he made the mid-card title relevant in the absence of the prime Champion, Brock Lesnar. He has just successfully defended the title against Seth Rollins, last week after which WWE took the belt away from him.
While the move surprised the WWE audience for sure, WWE believes they have a perfect plan for the biggest little plan to move forward with.

As of now, the creative plan is to insert Rey Mysterio into the tag team title picture. The Dirty Sheets reported that WWE officials are discussing the idea where Rey and his son, Dominick will win the RAW Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 36.
Rumors were always there that these two will share the ring at one point. WWE creative might book them at the biggest event of them all so as to create a classic WrestleMania moment.

Rey Mysterio has been very vocal about competing with or against Dominick before retirement from the pro-wrestling circuit. Here’s what he has stated,
“I’m hoping that my son can be ready by next year. I hope that we can all get the chance to see him in 2020, and I’m just as excited as the fans to see him step into the ring and have an official match, so let’s hope that it’s next year.
I would definitely love for him to carry on the Mysterio name. It’ll be up to him if he wants to wear the mask or not, I think he’s very well-identified right now.
I most definitely would love to share the ring properly with him in a Tag Team Match or a 3 vs 3, but I definitely would love to potentially share the ring with him one day.
I think, after that happens, I can retire peacefully and say that getting to share the ring with my son was the best feeling in the world.” (in an interview with Gary Cassidy)
Bringing Rey Mysterio to the tag title picture will boost up this division before WrestleMania. Previously the plan was that The OC would win the titles from the Viking Raiders and went on to defend it on April 5th against new NXT recruits, the Street Profits.
But for now, it looks like Rey Mysterio and his son will likely be replacing them and go on to face either OCs or Raiders for the titles at WrestleMania 36.
