AJ Styles made his return to WWE TV during this week’s taped episode of WWE RAW which also was the final episode before 2020 Money In The Bank pay-per-view. He won a Last Chance Gauntlet Match to earn the right to compete in the Men’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match replacing injured Apollo Crews at this Sunday’s WWE Money In the Bank PPV.

AJ Styles was supposed to be out of the scene for quite sometimes now who was brought back, all of a sudden. Apparently, it might have to do something with the declining RAW ratings.
Dave Meltzer noted on the latest edition of the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast that WWE originally planned to keep AJ Styles out of action for a longer period of time following his Boneyard Match where he was buried alive by The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. But the tumultuous viewership of Raw forced the creative to change with the plans.

There have also been some speculations on AJ Styles potentially turning to a babyface because he won’t have Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson by his side as they were released back on April 15. But didn’t happen because Raw roster’s heel side is pretty weak and it has a babyface WWE champion in the form of Drew McIntyre.
As seen on WWE Raw, AJ Styles ended up cutting a post-match promo where he threatened to toss Rey Mysterio or Aleister Black from the roof of WWE Headquarters. He also mentioned that The Undertaker wasn’t here to try and steal his spotlight. He also admitted that he lost the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 if that can be considered to be a loss as there were no rules in the match and it didn’t mean anything.

“I’m going to do anything and I mean anything to get that Money In the Bank contract,” AJ Styles said. “And if that means throwing a Rey Mysterio or an Aleister Black off the top of WWE headquarters, then so be it. They haven’t been what I’ve been through, they haven’t seen what I have seen. So get ready to re-write the history books on the greatest moments in Money In the Bank history, because the truth is AJ Styles will be #1 because I’m winning that contract where I’m guaranteed an opportunity at the WWE Championship and then finally, finally then, when I get that contract, Mr. Money In the Bank can be phenomenal.”
These tough words certainly hyped up Money In The Bank ladder match with a bigger star power who’d be seen in the match. Black also responded to AJ’s threats and promised to climb back up if AJ managed to toss him off the HQ, somehow. AJ Styles, Aleister Black, and Rey Mysterio will represent Raw brand with three SmackDown Superstars Otis, Daniel Bryan, and King Baron Corbin on this Sunday’s men’s Money In The Bank ladder match.
