For two back to back weeks, WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch did not appear on the weekly programming. She is one of the prime attractions on the show which is why it appears to be a surprise.
However, WWE might be having a good reason to keep her off the TV so that the craze around her remains strong and she can be in a position to move more merchandise in the upcoming months.
WWE Considering Doing Dog Collar Match For 2019 TLC PPV
As reported earlier, the plan for Becky Lynch is to face one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Asuka in due course. But even prior to that, she is set to team up with Charlotte Flair to deliver the first-ever Women’s tag team TLC matchup by challenging Asuka and Kairi Sane.
This would happen at the TLC pay-per-view event that takes place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 15th.
So at this point, WWE is trying to build up the match by feeding off Charlotte Flair to the tag team champions who are playing the role of dominant heels. Flair has digested a number of beatdowns as well losses and now she needs a name in the form of backup.
So Becky Lynch would appear as the savior, perhaps, next week that should receive a big pop from the audience. Also, this brief hiatus could act as a positive gap in the lengthy title run that is continuing since Wrestlemania 35.
WWE News: Dana Brooke Confirms She’s Going On A Date With Batista
We should note that Becky Lynch did appear to entertain the audience when WWE Raw went off the air, this week. She defeated Kairi Sane in a singles contest and then talked to Sarah Schreiber noting on her hiatus from TV. Check out her comments where she pointed out of collecting ‘debts’,
“It’s been two weeks since I’ve been on RAW, and it’s been two months since I have defended this,” Becky admitted. “Now did we think that the powers that were keeping me down at the beginning of all of this have just gone away? I have said the fight that I want, and I have said that I will fight them in the parking lot if I can’t get it on a pay-per-view.
“I am the face of this company but I am not going to be the mouthpiece because this title deserves more. I deserve more. The people deserve more. I’ve said the fight that I want. I have one last debt to collect.”
The debt mentioned here could be the much-anticipated singles contest against Ronda Rousey that never happened in the WWE, to date.
There’s no present update on when the Baddest Woman on the Planet would return to the scene. Rumors suggest that this could happen at next year’s WrestleMania.
