WWE has recently included the son of Rey Mysterio into the programming with the hope that this young man has a big future in wrestling. The youngster is getting special treatment here since every other superstar has through with the developmental process to come to the main roster. But Dominic started doing TV appearances on Raw TV, directly alongside his father. Now it looks like he has bright things coming ahead of him at the expense of his dad’s career.

Brock Lesnar Injured Rey Mysterio & His Son On WWE Raw

According to the reports of Slice Wrestling, Rey Mysterio may have to compete in his final match at Wrestlemania 36. It will be his retirement match in the WWE, of course against his son Dominic that will go down in the history books from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Here’s more from the reports carried by wwfoldschool.com,

“WWE wants to do a “passing of the torch” moment between Rey (age 44) and his son, Dominick (age 22), as WWE officials are considering a “Father vs. Son” match at the Show of Shows.”

Randy Orton Challenges The Rock In A Wrestlemania Match

As seen on Monday Night Raw, earlier this year, Rey Mysterio wanted to announce retirement owing to the rough patch of his career. But it was Dominic who stopped him from heading into the sunset of his career. This was a significant hint that WWE was preparing the younger Mysterio to come into the show and start from where his father will leave. It will also help to carry the tradition forward that the Mexican legend will leave behind.

Reports have always been there that we will see a future matchup between Rey Mysterio and Dominic. This could create a perfect scenario for the legendary superstar to have a proper send-off. But to date, we have not seen his son wrestling in a ring. Hopefully, he is ready to dance in the ring with a legendary wrestler like his father.

Chances are high that Dominic will turn on his father at some point to start the rivalry. Perhaps, the recent beatdown from Brock Lesnar to both Rey Mysterio and his son will act as an inducer to ensure the heel-turn of the youngster. Dominic had received in-ring competition from Lance Storm who is likely to adopt an in-ring name of Prince Mysterio.
