Roman Reigns seems to be eagerly waiting to return to the WWE, but the time isn’t just perfect, yet. He is currently spending time at home in full quarantine after becoming a father of twin babies for the second time in his life. At this point, he thinks that his family should be the priority during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As reported earlier by ringsidenews.com, there’s no news yet on bringing back Roman Reigns from WWE’s side. While speaking to The Hindu, The Big Dog addressed when he could probably return to WWE. As per his claim, he can’t wait to “smash people” and hasn’t stopped training, either. But he just wants to wait until the novel coronavirus pandemic levels off, or a vaccine comes out for the deadly virus.
“I’m ready to smash people if you know what I mean. I’ve been training my butt off during this pandemic. As far as performing in front of an empty arena is concerned, it is tough and I really commend all the guys and girls who are doing it. Everything that I have ever learned was in order to get a reaction and to interact with our fans… so that is the hardest part.”
Rumor: Braun Strowman To Drop WWE Universal Title; Roman Reigns Returning?
Some people doubted his status as the top star in the WWE following his sudden leave during WrestleMania 36. The franchise player said to have deteriorated his relationship with McMahon and Co over the sudden as well as extended absence from TV. But Roman Reigns confirmed that he’s the top-most guy present on the roster.
“But when it comes down to it, I am gonna get in there and compete at the highest level… hopefully for a title. More specifically, the Universal Championship. If not, I will be there to prove that I’m not just the top of the mountain, but I am the mountain. I am [WWE’s] biggest star, regardless of if I am on the show or not… so I have everything to prove and everything to lose as well.”
Coronavirus: More WWE Talents Want To Take Time-Off Like Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns was slated to compete and then defeat Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 over the Universal Championship. He showed up to tape the match, but then a backstage situation occurred to change his mind. The Miz was feeling unwell and he decided to go home instead of pursuing the gold and be the top of the SmackDown roster for weeks to follow.
WWE then decided to call Braun Strowman and put the gold around his shoulder. Now that, the indications are there that Roman Reigns will soon be back to reclaim the gold, Strowman’s days as the champion is numbered. He’s already in the middle of a feud against Bray Wyatt that could cost his title reign in jeopardy around Extreme Rules or SummerSlam.
