The interesting storyline featuring Lana and Liv Morgan became even more complicated following this week’s WWE Raw. These two competed in a rematch from last week where Morgan picked up the win by pinning her current rival. But the winning moments soon turned bitter courtesy of her former best friend, Ruby Riott who returned on the show to deliver an assault and lay her down in the middle of the ring.

After the first match between Lana and Liv Morgan was over, Ruby Riott came out making her comeback on WWE Raw on the episode that aired from the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. The two former Riott Squad members went to hug which was about to be a reuniting session but Riott slammed Liv and beat her up.

Ruby Riott continued the attack on her former buddy from behind as Lana provided the distraction. Riott made her exit, stopping to turn back around and smile at Liv Morgan who was trying to recover. But Lana took advantage of the situation and dropped Liv again with a face-buster and burst out with joy.

There’s no update on why Ruby Riott decided to turn on Liv Morgan upon return. It will get clear in the coming weeks whether WWE intends to use her in the ongoing angle in a significant role. Whatever the plan is, the sudden return has made the women’s division of WWE Raw, even stronger.

Recent updates suggested that Ruby Riott had returned to in-ring training at the WWE Performance Center situated in Orlando, Florida. She was medically cleared to compete after being out of action for over nine months. Double shoulder surgery was performed on her in 2019 with one operation on her right shoulder in May and the left one being in August.

Ruby Riott hasn’t wrestled since May 17, 2019, live event that took place in Cardiff, Wales. She teamed up with Tamina Snuka, and Lacey Evans to digest a loss in a Fatal 4 Way match against RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Her final TV match happened during the April 22, 2019, WWE Main Event tapings which also ended in a losing effort against Dana Brooke.
