WWE has announced the main event of next week’s SmackDown in the form of a huge women’s division matchup. After weeks of frustrations, Lacey Evans will finally be able to get her hands on Sasha Banks.

It will be a rematch from a few weeks ago which was disqualified as Banks tried to engage in a verbal encounter with Evans’ daughter, Summer, by the ringside.

After this, Lacey Evans snapped instantly and threw Sasha Banks into the barrier to continue a relentless attack. The officials and Dana Brooke keep these two apart for the time being as the bad blood was carried over the social media. These two took shots on their Instagram account which became very personal.

So, this match had to happen, at some point. WWE.com then confirmed this contest on SmackDown with the following statements,
“After weeks of personal attacks and plenty of flying fists, Lacey Evans and Sasha Banks will square off next week on Friday Night SmackDown.
Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley have taken glee in taunting and mocking Evans’ family, including her 7-year-old daughter. The Sassy Southern Belle has naturally taken great exception, and the two will finally collide this coming Friday night.
Will The Boss prove that she is indeed still at the head of SmackDown, or will Evans build off last week’s tag team victory over Sasha and snag arguably the biggest win of her WWE career by besting The Blueprint?”

The match was originally supposed to happen on this week’s SmackDown as it was mentioned during NFL On FOX coverage this past weekend. After changes in scheduling, Sasha Banks teamed up with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley instead, for a Triple Threat against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke.
It was noted by the announcers that the winners of the match could move closer to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles picture. These titles are now being held by Asuka & Kairi Sane who may expect Evans and Brooke as opponents in due course.
But for now, Lacey Evans will be focusing to capture the SmackDown women’s championship. She is likely to receive a title shot at Royal Rumble against Bayley.
