The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has been tested positive for Covid-19 and he has been admitted to hospital as a precautionary measure, his brother Snehasish Ganguly informed it on Tuesday.

Earlier this year he was hospitalized twice after complaining of chest pain and underwent a right coronary angioplasty.

However, Sourav Ganguly is double vaccinated but he has been traveling constantly as part of his job with BCCI.

“He received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night and is currently hemodynamically stable,” Dr Rupali Basu, MD & CEO of Woodlands Hospital, said in a statement.

A medical board comprising Dr. Saroj Mondal, Dr. Saptarshi Basu, and Dr. Soutik Panda in consultation with Dr. Devi Shetty and Dr. Aftab Khan is keeping a close watch on his health status,” Basu added.

Earlier in January Sourav Ganguly was taken to the hospital when former Indian captain complaint of chest discomfort. Then again 20 days later, he was rushed to the hospital for the same reason. However, he recovered quickly and started working from March onwards.

Notable that his brother Snehasish Ganguly was tested Covid-19 positive earlier this year and then Sourav isolated himself as a precautionary measure.

Earlier in the month he has been in the news for the captaincy saga as Virat Kohli was sacked from ODI captaincy and Rohit Sharma has been given the opportunity to lead India in both white-ball formats.

The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly made a statement that he requested Virat Kohli personally to reconsider his resignation from the T20 captaincy. Though later in a press conference Virat Kohli contradicted Ganguly’s statement as such conversation never happened between him and any BCCI official.

He also said that his resignation was well received by the BCCI. However, he showed his disappointment with the way he was informed (about captaincy change) only an hour and a half before the actual announcement.
