The Fiend was not live-in-person on last night’s SmackDown. But WWE used him in the dark match capacity to keep the fans entertained once the show was over. As per the updates from wrestlingINC.com, the Universal Champion put his title on the line during the non-televised segment. His opponent was none other than the current number one contender, Daniel Bryan.
As noted by the source, the match was short in length and The Fiend picked up the win via clean pinfall,
“The dark main event after tonight’s WWE SmackDown and WWE 205 Live went off the air at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana saw WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt retained his title over Daniel Bryan. A correspondent at the show noted that Wyatt won with Sister Abigail and that the match went around 4 minutes.”

As announced earlier, The Fiend is set to defend the Universal title against Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 26. This would be a continuation of their feud that started before the Survivor Series PPV. Last night on SmackDown, The Fiend appeared as Bray Wyatt to taunt Bryan with his creepy Firefly Funhouse messages in taped segments. But he was nowhere on live TV.

Another dark match took place on SmackDown where Ali picked up the win against Drew Gulak via roll-up. The above-mentioned source noted something very interesting on this loss of Gulak who is on a losing streak, lately.
The former champion on 205 Live, Drew Gulak has lost every TV or dark match he’s been in since retaining the WWE NXT Cruiserweight Title over Lince Dorado and Humberto Carrillo at WWE Clash of Champions back in September.

On TV episodes, Drew Gulak lost to Braun Strowman on the October 18 SmackDown, to Kalisto on the October 25 SmackDown and to Ali on the November 29 SmackDown.
Last week, Heavy Machinery’s Otis Dojovic pinned him in a match. Also, he lost several dark live event matches over the past few months to tone down his record books. Hopefully, he will soon be back on the winning road.
