Update On Tyson Fury’s Potential Match At WWE WrestleMania 36
As noted previously, WWE is pretty interested to bring back Tyson Fury inside the squared circle for one more match, at least. Vince McMahon was said to be very much impressed with his first outing.
It created an interest in the non-wrestling fans for the WWE product which is the biggest reason why The Boss might be interested to have him onboard.
As we have seen, Tyson Fury appeared on the much-hyped FOX debut of SmackDown on October 4th to get involved in a program with Braun Strowman.
This has set up a massive contest between the two of them at Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia on the night of Halloween. He picked up the win via count-out hut Braun Strowman delivered a Running Powerslam to stand tall after the match.
Following this, Tyson Fury made an appearance on SmackDown to show respect to his opponent. These two got along quite well which may have planted the seeds for their next matchup where they would eventually become partners.
According to Tom Colohue, there’s a possibility that “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman will team up with Tyson Fury for WrestleMania 36. They will take on any of the combination of King Corbin / Dolph Ziggler / Robert Roode at the biggest event of the year.
Below is what Colohue said, (courtesy wwfoldschool.com)
“Now when he was in Manchester for the SmackDown taping, he did form the beginnings of a tag team with Braun Strowman. And I think the idea there is that they’ll protect how green and inexperienced he is in this field – as well as help potentially get him over.
That’s a key thing they’re going to be targeting right now – how to get Tyson Fury over.
Which is why I think if he’s at WrestleMania, which is very likely, he’ll be facing high-quality heels on his own brand – which is SmackDown.
So I suspect we’re going to see him face King Corbin or some combination of Fury/Strowman-Corbin/Ziggler or Corbin/Ziggler/Roode.”
There’s no confirmation on whether Tyson Fury will be involved at WrestleMania 36 or not. It depends on the result of his upcoming Boxing match with Deontay Wilder on February 22nd.
Based on the outcome and Fury’s physical state, WWE would approach him for a contract. WrestleMania is scheduled to take place within two months of the fight which is why there’re doubts if he can get ready.
