Australia batsman Usman Khawaja has urged the Australian captains (Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch) to clear the air on Justin Langer’s resignation as the head coach. Notable that Pat Cummins & Co. have received a lot of flak for not backing Justin Langer on their media engagements.

“I didn’t really know what was going on. I wasn’t part of the process. I just came back into the team a few months ago, I’ve been a little bit out of it.” Usman Khawaja said.

Notable that Usman Khawaja was shown as someone who stood against Justin Langer’s methods as shown in Amazon Prime’s documentary ‘The Test’ but the 35-year old showered praises for the coach.

“I feel for the man himself because I’ve got along with Justin for a long time, I love him as a bloke, he’s a legend, and on a personal level, whether I got dropped or whether he’s not the Australian coach, we both have that relationship,” Usman Khawaja said.

“He brought humility back to the Australian team. I know what we played like before he was a coach and I know what we played like when he was coach,” he added.

In his return to the test side, Khawaja scored twin hundreds in the Sydney Test against Australia and he has been retained in the squad for the Pakistan tour. He urged Australia’s leadership group to clear the air about their stand on Langer’s exit.

“I think at some stage, one of the captains, ‘Finchy’ or Patty, will probably have to stand up and answer some questions just to get rid of all the speculation that’s going around and to just put an end to it all,” he opined.

“It’s not coming from a very vindictive (place), or there are no agendas. At some stage, there’ll be hard questions asked to CA and to the senior group, and I’m sure they’ll come out and be open and honest and give all the reasons they need to,” he added.

After making his debut in 2011, Usman Khawaja has already represented Australia in 46 Tests, 40 ODIs, and 9 T20Is.
