Smackdown came up with big announcements this week on Extreme Rules.

Smackdown came up with a big announcement this week on Extreme Rules. We already confirmed about a huge tag team championship match at the upcoming PPV night.

Team Hell No will reunite to get a title shot against the Bludgeon Brothers. It will be after six-long years that they will be back onboard on the same page. No wonder the crowd will love to see them in action.

Things will get even better for the WWE Universe as they will also get to see a championship rematch soon.

So, Extreme Rules will also witness Asuka challenging Carmella over the Smackdown women’s title.

We wondered what would be the next step for the champion. The GM of the show had an answer to it when she announced this matchup.

James Ellsworth was the only reason why Asuka could not win her first women’s title at MITB.

Furthermore, the returnee created a distraction to the contender for the title allowing Mella to hit a super-kick on her opponent.

Thus, she took a dirty way to retain the championship around her waist.

So, Paige did not hesitate to give another shot to the Empress of Tomorrow at Extreme Rules.

Carmella was not present on this week’s Smackdown Live but Ellsworth was. The GM informed him about the title match coming up on July 15th.

Later WWE.com confirmed it with the following quotes,

“Something has to give, as SmackDown General Manager Paige has made a rematch between Carmella and Asuka for the illustrious title at WWE Extreme Rules. There is no denying that Asuka certainly can ruin a Mellabration any day of the week.

Will she get true retribution by taking away what matters most to The Princess of Staten Island? Find out at WWE Extreme Rules, Sunday, July 15, at 7 ET/4 PT, streaming live on WWE Network!”

We are yet to learn Carmella’s reaction to this sudden announcement. She will be back on next week’s Smackdown Live after getting done with promotional activities in Australia.

Meanwhile, Asuka will be in-action against James Ellsworth on next week’s show. The ‘chinless wonder’ of the WWE was dying to get into a competition against Asuka this week. So Paige sanctioned the match on the very next episode of Smackdown.
