Earlier reports indicating a surprise in-ring return for WWE Hall of Famer Edge was already available following Summerslam 2019. In the event hosted in his hometown of Toronto, Canada, he appeared to shock the world by spearing Elias.
This was the first time that he got physical inside the squared circle since his retirement match back in April 2011 that left the fans discussing his in-ring future.
Will WWE allow the women superstars in Saudi Arabia?
Sooner, the sources spotted Edge in Pittsburgh on “WWE business” purpose. A lot of people assumed that he was visiting WWE’s head of medical Dr. Joseph Maroon who practices out of the city.
There’re no such confirmations available on either party about the return as they chose to remain tight-lipped on this situation. Since then we haven’t heard anything official about the Rated R Superstar’s status. But it looks like he is indeed gearing up to be back in competition.
Brad Shepard reported on the Oh, You Didn’t Know Patreon that Edge is indeed training for an in-ring return. It’s not clear when he will be wrestling again. But it is reportedly “believed” that he is gearing up for WrestleMania,
“According to a source in WWE, Edge is training for an in-ring return (not full time). The time frame isn’t certain but is believed to possibly be by WrestleMania.
I’m told WWE medical staff will keep a close eye on him.”
Once reports were out regarding this surprising comeback, Edge addressed this on social media. He stated that WWE doctors are yet to medically clear him. However, if this latest update is any indication then he’s just trying to swerve the fans just to keep the much-anticipated comeback hidden.
But then it is also true that WWE is more than strict when it comes to clear wrestlers who suffered tough concussions. Edge was one of them who got nearly paralyzed due to a broken neck.
Reports from ringsidenews.com suggested that it seems Edge is doing very well and this is why he commented that he could wrestle again. He has also been looking to undergo stem cell treatments.
He did all of his own stunts by himself in his movie career as well. Plus, he has performed a spear on concrete since retiring. So we have to watch out for the 11-time world champion’s status, constantly.
Edge competed in one last match back in 2011 at WrestleMania 27. He defeated Alberto Del Rio to retain the World Heavyweight Championship and then retire as a World Champion.
