WWE News: How Will Becky Lynch Make History At Money In The Bank 2019?
Becky Lynch will have to pull off double duties at Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. She is the WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion at the same time that hinted that WWE is probably moving towards unifying both the titles. But now it seems that is not the case as WWE will force her to defend both the championships at the upcoming event set for May 19th. She will compete in two separate championship matches which WWE confirmed following this week’s episode of the programming.
This will be an all-time record in WWE’s history books as no woman prior to this has competed in two title matches on one single night. The women’s Wrestlemania main event was not the only history that the fame roster can brag about. Becky Lynch will set another milestone when Money in the Bank airs on the WWE Network. In case she defends the titles successfully then she will eventually confirm her undisputed status in the division.
As seen on Smackdown Live, Charlotte Flair demanded a championship opportunity from Becky Lynch. She pointed out the fact that the title-holder never defeated her at Wrestlemania 35 but rather pinned Ronda Rousey. It automatically gives her a title shot for the lost Smackdown women’s championship. Still, Bayley interfered in between the conversation and hence Charlotte had to defeat her in order to earn the title match. She will now challenge the champion at Money in the Bank.
As for the Raw women’s championship, Becky Lynch received a number one contender, last week. It was Lacey Evans who defeated Natalya to earn the spot. Following this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE.com announced the separate title match from the red brand with the following statement,
“Armed with an ability to play politics and curry favor, Evans earned herself a Raw Women’s Title opportunity against Becky Lynch with her victory over Natalya the following week on Raw, setting the stage for an extremely intriguing matchup. What will happen when The Man squares off against The Lady? Don’t miss WWE Money in the Bank, Sunday, May 19, streaming live at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”
