The promos around Kevin Owens hinting a return is up on the air on WWE Raw for sometimes. Last night, the former Universal Champion himself appeared in a video package to give an update on the comeback. We have spotted him spending some good time with his family which seemed much needed for him. But he is focused on coming back stronger than ever.
He mentioned that his return on WWE Raw will happen within one month from now. This indicates that he will be back in March. However, he did not spell out the exact date. But it’s overall a good update since Kevin Owens will not have to miss this year’s Wrestlemania. Also, he was completely unaware of resurfacing on either WWE Raw or Smackdown brand.
Another change indicated during this promo was that he might be portraying a different character upon return. The usual arrogance was completely missing from his behavior. He was just a soft-spoken man leaving the on-screen character that he uses to play. This could mean that he is coming back with a babyface gimmick attached to him.
Kevin Owens has been out of action since last October. He was dealing with a knee injury for a long time. Later it turned out to be much worse than initially thought. Both his knees had to undergo surgeries that need a long time to recover. The estimated time to come back was at least six months. But his rehab process may have gone well.
Recent pictures surfaced online that shows Kevin Owens is in incredible shape. He has lost kilos of weight to become much slimmer. Vince McMahon wanted him to get thinner for a long time. This injury process might bring him back in a totally new avatar. Recent rumors claimed that he is coming back around Royal Rumble. But that was not true for him and his best friend, Sami Zayn.
But WWE creative does not want to take any hurried decision regarding this. He is a marquee superstar who needs an impactful return and likely to get it. He should play an important role on the Wrestlemania 35 match card. This is the reason why Kevin Owens has to sit out of WWE programming even after recovering from surgery.
