Paige came up with a big announcement on Smackdown for the women’s division, this week.

This is the last time that she received a chance to hype-up the MITB event. It became a needed thing after WWE Raw failed to deliver impactful episodes on a constant basis.

The anti-Diva announced a women’s summit for last night’s Smackdown. Four women received the chance of competing at this year’s MITB ladder match.

They took part in the segment to make their claim to this Sunday’s opportunity. Charlotte, Lana, Naomi and Becky Lynch were part of the summit.

Paige had already become a popular GM with these unique arrangements. The summit too was quite a fresh thing on Smackdown Live.

We have not seen such a unique session around the women’s division before this. It was a completely different booking from usual matches on TV tapings.

Lana started the conversation by saying that she will bring the MITB briefcase to Smackdown. Naomi opposed her mentioning that she won the women’s battle royal this year at Wrestlemania. Charlotte interrupted saying that happened because she was not in the match.

Becky protested stating she was the inaugural champion for Smackdown. She is not missing the MITB opportunity. The IIconics and the former Absolution group emerged to the ring starting a huge brawl at the ringside area. We understood that this was just a setup of a tag team action.

The match turned out to be even bigger, as Asuka wanted a piece of Carmella too. The champion attacked her behind last week.

So she wanted retribution. Paige confirmed a ten woman tag team match with the lineup of Naomi, Lana, Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Asuka vs. The IIconics, Carmella, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

Lana worked as a unit with the babyfaces despite being the heel. Charlotte Flair was the one to put their opponents down with a mesmerising moonsault off the top rope.

This made room for Asuka to focus on Carmella. She ducked a superkick from Mella to lock in the Asuka Lock.

The champion had no choice but to tap out from this. The five babyface superstars won the contest. Asuka looked determined to win Smackdown women’s title, whereas, the rest four focused on the MITB ladder match.
