WWE Smackdown Live Full Results: July 3, 2018

We received multiple announcements for an Independence Day special episode of Smackdown. Team Hell No was the focal point of the show following their reunion. There were multiple new matches confirmed on the show including an open challenge. Plus, an inter-gender match was also there. Here are the results from the show hosted by the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Renee Young introduced us to Smackdown Live. She welcomed back Team Hell no on the show in nearly five years. The team of Kane and Daniel Bryan was having their usual differences as a team when the Usos walked out to interrupt. They questioned the impromptu title shots against The Bludgeon Brothers. The GM booked the main event between these two tag teams.

Jeff Hardy was out next on Smackdown for the United States Open Challenge. The Miz answered to it. Jeff tripped off his opponent onto the turnbuckle and went for an early finishing move. But Miz moved out of the way to dodge it. He came back trying to pick up a roll-up win. But Jeff countered it with a Twist of Fate and followed up with a Swanton Bomb to retain his title.

The New Day was out to host a pancake eating contest on Smackdown. But SAnitY appeared out of nowhere after the contest began. The trio ambushed the three members of New Day to an extreme level. They delivered a flying neck breaker to Woods through the table to end the attack.

AJ Styles squared off in a match against Aiden English on Smackdown. He cut a brief promo before the short contest. A backbreaker following with the Calf Crusher was enough to put away English from the match. Rusev pulled out AJ off the ring and delivered a post-match attack on AJ. He locked in the Accolade on the champion to make a bold statement.

Asuka took on against James Ellsworth in an inter-gender match. She was in firm control of the match hitting her pendant moves until Ellsworth decided to leave the contest. Asuka chased her down to the backstage leading a double count-out to the contest. Carmella took a cheap-shot to Asuka to put her down and ran away with Ellsworth.

Becky Lynch had a singles contest on Smackdown against Peyton Royce. Billie Kay was there to distract Becky in the match. Despite this, the Irish Lass kicker was able to hit a Bexploder Suplex. Then she locked in the arm-bar to get a submission win.

The Usos got an opportunity to win the main event of Smackdown and get a title shot. But they did not capitalize on this opportunity. Despite their high flying moves, Daniel Bryan was able to come back with his pendant Running Knee. This allowed Kane to deliver a chokeslam on Jey Uso to pick up the win. Thereafter a confrontation between Hell No and Bludgeon Brothers ended this week’s Smackdown.
