I Don’t Miss Attending IPL Games But I’m Missing My Husband: Sakshi Dhoni

Sakshi Dhoni had always been spotted in the stadium supporting his husband MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. But in the ongoing IPL 2020, She could not attend the matches because of the outbreak of coronavirus and new norms introduced in the league. As it has been over 12 days since the start of the league, Sakshi has revealed that she is missing MS Dhoni.

Although IPL 2020 started from September 19, Chennai Super Kings along with other franchises have traveled two to three weeks ahead of the inauguration match. The franchises had followed a six-day quarantine following which they had started the training campaign. To curb the spread of the coronavirus, the players will be living in the bio-secure bubble until the completion of the league.

Sakshi Dhoni said that although she is enjoying watching the league live on TV, she is missing MS Dhoni next to him. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and some other players have traveled with their family. But Sakshi said that they decided to stay in India because it would have been difficult to live in the bubble for over two months.

“I am not really missing it (attending IPL in a stadium) as I am following it diligently on TV, but I miss my husband. Honestly, it would’ve been difficult for Ziva and me to be in the bubble for over two months,” Sakshi added.

Meanwhile, the MS Dhoni-led side didn’t have an expected start of the tournament. They won the season opener match against Mumbai Indians but lost the next two matches consecutively. The absence of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh, who have backed out of the tournament, is hurting the team.

CSK is set to play their fourth match of IPL 2020 against Kings XI Punjab on Friday.

“We have acquired the rights of an unpublished book of a debutant author. We will adapt it into a web series. It is a mythological sci-fi story that explores the journey of a mysterious Aghori and is set at a high-tech facility on a remote island,” said Sakshi Dhoni.

MS Dhoni will be partially involved in the production house:

“We aim to give a platform to deserving talent to showcase their skills along with providing fresh and original content to the audience. Mahi will be partially involved [in the production house]. The day-to-day running of the company is looked after by me. We have a process to ensure quality control from the word go. Mahi and I take the final call with our team’s inputs and suggestions. Our aim is to produce good stories from our hearts,” Sakshi added.

MS Dhoni has not travelled with his family to UAE considering the spread of the coronavirus. His team has so far registered one victory out of three matches.

MS Dhoni to lead CSK in IPL 2020 aiming for a 4th title

Dhoni will be seen back in action on the field after 14 months, which is the most he’s stayed out for in his career. CSK are without veterans Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina in this IPL, but still, have a strong team in their hands to compete for the title. They have a good spin attack in their hands with the likes of Imran Tahir, Piyush Chawla and Ravindra Jadeja who will be much favoured by the slow and dry pitches in UAE.

Naming the song helicopter was her idea: Dwayne Bravo on Sakshi Dhoni

Dwayne Bravo has revealed that it was Sakshi Dhoni’s idea to name the song Helicopter and he wanted to add Dhoni’s number 7 to it and hence it was named ‘Helicopter 7’. Bravo also mentioned him not knowing about MS Dhoni’s retirement prior and just wanted to pay him tribute when he was still playing the game.

“Yeah yeah (got great response), from him (Dhoni) and from his wife (Sakshi). His wife was instrumental in some of the things put into the song. For example naming the song helicopter was her idea. I wanted to call the song No. 7. I asked some of his fans too about the things they want and the thing that stood out was helicopter. I’m just happy I was able to put together a project like this. The song reached a million views within an hour,” Bravo told ABP News.

“I’m heavily into music and I said to my musical team that I have to do a song for this guy and I have to do it before he retires. I didn’t want it to be a farewell song or a sad song. I wanted it to be a song highlighting his achievements throughout his career while he’s still playing. A lot of people remember players when they finish. Honestly I had no idea that he’s going to retire. Good news is he’s still going to be playing in yellow,” Bravo stated.

He has done a lot for me: Dwayne Bravo on MS Dhoni

The CSK all-rounder Bravo is all praises for his captain — and for the good he has done to the sport and for him personally. Dwayne Bravo said he was shocked to hear the news of MSD’s retirement and even he got the news from social media.

“The song came about because he has done so much for cricket, done so much for his country and for me personally. He has done a lot for me, he has helped me to improve my game,” Bravo added.

“I first came to know about the news from social media just like other people. MS and I share a very good relationship but these are things that maybe his close surroundings, may be his wife, his family will know about. I was in shock as well,” Bravo said.

MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo will be seen in CSK colours in the upcoming IPL. The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the 8 teams play in UAE. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
