The return of the Blood & Guts match was teased during last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS Network. The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Jake Hagar, Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, & Daniel Garcia) came out and implied that they dominated this past Sunday’s “Anarchy in the Arena” match and that the AEW Galaxy should worship them.

Jericho also noted in his promo how Eddie Kingston attempted to set him on fire. He also said that when the sports entertainers and the pro wrestlers go against one another, sports entertainers always win. This is when Eddie interrupted him on AEW Dynamite and said that he wanted to fight them in a blood & guts match.

Jericho denied the proposal match initially, and that’s when the JAS attacked Eddie and started beating him down at ringside. As Jericho was distracted, Ortiz entered the ring and cut off a chunk of Jericho’s hair.

The former WWE Superstar was angry and he mentioned that he accepts the Blood & Guts match only if Ortiz put his hair on the line in a hair vs. hair stipulation match in a future match on AEW Dynamite. If Ortiz’s side wins the match, Jericho will shave his head. If Jericho gets the win then Ortiz will lose his hair after the match conclusion.

The return of the Blood & Guts match was indicated after AEW filed to trademark with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on March 27. The official date for the match was later announced for a special episode of AEW Dynamite on June 29 in Detroit, Michigan while the hair vs. hair matchup will take place on the June 15 episode.
