All Elite Wrestling is about to host the inaugural Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournaments which comes as a partnership between the two parties. Back in September, the partnership between AEW and The Owen Hart Foundation was announced to honor the legacy of the late great wrestler. An upcoming tournament was also announced back then.
In an update, AEW’s inaugural Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournaments was announced to take place at the 2022 Double Or Nothing pay-per-view which possibly will go down in May. AEW President Tony Khan revealed on Friday night that there will be two tournaments of singles matches for the upcoming tourney – one for the men’s division and one for the women’s division.

As The finals will take place at Double Or Nothing, Owen’s widow, Dr. Martha Hart, will be present at the pay-per-view to present “The Owen” trophy cups to the winners of the two tournaments. The winners will be awarded a cup trophy known as “The Owen.”

AEW will be announcing additional details on the first-ever Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournaments during this coming Wednesday’s Holiday Bash edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT while the date and location for Double Or Nothing will be announced, later.
As revealed earlier, AEW will also produce and distribute unique and original Owen merchandise apart from Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournaments which includes Owen being featured in the upcoming AEW console video game. Merchandise to be released includes action figures, apparel, posters, and collectible items.
“AEW’s relationship with the Hart family dates back to our inaugural pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing in 2019, and Owen’s influence is still felt today,” said AEW CEO, General Manager, and Head of Creative Tony Khan. “To extend his memory and his legacy even further through this agreement is a powerful and meaningful moment for the entire wrestling community.”
