WWE Universe has certainly not forgotten about Alberto Del Rio who used to be a bonafide heel for most of his run in the company.

Del Rio’s bitter relationship with Paige’s family

Plus, he was known as the so-called bad boy in WWE who never had a smooth relationship with the company heads or his co-workers. WWE has fired him once due to this, as well.

Alberto Del Rio has recently opened up about the possibility of a WWE return, someday. During an interview with TMZ Sports, he promoted his upcoming fight against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz.

He was asked about a potential in-ring comeback during the conversation who seemed to be pretty positive with it.

The former WWE Champion stated that he agrees there’s been a difference of opinions with him and the head honchos of the company.

But that does not mean that he rules out a return to the WWE for one last run. He plans to do so within a year or so if the current plans remain intact. Here’s more on what Alberto Del Rio has stated,

“The door has always been open for both sides. I’m not against their business and they’re not against my business. At the end of the day, I understand now as a promoter, nothing is personal.

When you’re an athlete, sometimes you think your boss doesn’t agree with you because he doesn’t like you but it’s nothing personal.” (courtesy sescoops.com)

The Mexican Aristocrat noted that he’s not simply “jumping from pro wrestling to MMA.” He’s been competing in mixed martial arts, his entire life. Now, he’s making this comeback for “one last fight.”

Alberto Del Rio added that he intends to return to pro wrestling in 2020 keeping his position intact in the MMA industry. He plays an official’s role with the promotion name Combate Americas for more than a couple of years. He wants to continue working for them while enjoying one last run in the squared circle.

It’s still unsure whether Alberto Del Rio can make a comeback to the WWE considering the bitter memories he created back in the days.

At one point, he also reportedly held back Paige from returning to the company when these two were in a relationship. As of now, he is scheduled to fight Tito Ortiz on December 7th at the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. The show will be available via pay-per-view for $39.99.
