A championship belt exchange segment was hosted in the main event slot of this past edition of SmackDown between Becky Lynch (surrendered the SmackDown Women’s Championship to become Raw Women’s Champion) and Charlotte Flair (surrendered the Raw Women’s Championship to become SmackDown Women’s Champion). Things went out of the script between the two reflecting their real-life equation about which WWE officials are obviously unhappy.
Charlotte Flair reportedly received backstage heat after how the title exchange segment took place with Becky Lynch on this week’s SmackDown, according to a report from PWInsider. She didn’t want to “look weak” against The MAN and hence she’s the alleged person who took things off-script.

Charlotte Flair was never scripted to pull the title away from Lynch but she did, a move that’s believed to be an attempt of trying to “one-up” Lynch by making her pick up the title. The on-screen WWE Official Sonya Deville tackled things as she made Flair pick up the title, thrown by Becky.
Charlotte Flair went off the script on Smackdown
Initial reports from PWInsider mentioned that Becky Lynch wasn’t supposed to throw away the title at Charlotte Flair, but an updated report states that part of the segment was planned to take place.
Afterward, the two Superstars got into a heated war of words targeted at each other at the gorilla position. This apparently happened as the relationship between the two has downgraded in recent times. Fightful Select then informed that Charlotte Flair was asked to leave the building during Lynch’s dark match to avoid further problems. PWInsider noted she was escorted out by a WWE official.
Things became even more complex as Charlotte Flair left the building without talking to Vince McMahon at gorilla about which he wasn’t happy, per an update from talkSPORT. Thus, the second generation athlete hasn’t only disrespected Lynch and McMahon but also pulled the attention of the SmackDown main event segment in the wrong direction.
The report also adds that Charlotte Flair, herself was “very upset” after how things have unfolded. Interestingly, her fiancée, Andrade El Idolo tweeted out “Fu… WWE” following this segment. So some speculate about having a connection between these two instances. While Flair is digesting all the blames, Lynch is considered to be the one who was protecting themselves even after getting pushed.
