Becky Lynch is considered one of the top superstars in WWE who has stood out on her own amid the already established names. Basically, the professional wrestling industry was considered the turf for the male athletes but then the Women’s Evolution started and the new entrants to the female roster shattered the glass ceiling. The former Raw Women’s Champion is definitely one of them.
For years now, Becky Lynch has been a cornerstone figure of the WWE Women’s roster, and being in the top position, she herself helped the mic skills to reach the top. Despite not being a born American, her accent was never ever a flaw rather she displayed confidence on the mic. At this point, it’s safe to say that she’s residing in a sphere where she no longer has to worry about the scripts provided by the WWE writers.

Recently, this aspect of WWE handing out written scripts to their talents was discussed during an Instagram live stream featuring former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz, Seth Rollins, and The Rock. Becky Lynch was also there and she was asked if she, like most of the Superstars, has to memorize her promos before going on TV. The good thing is that both she and her husband Seth Rollins receive a lot of creative freedom.

Becky Lynch confirmed that she’s not bound with scripts in the WWE
“Thankfully for me it’s not like that and it’s not like that for this guy [Seth Rollins] either. We get a promo and sometimes there’ll be lines in it that you have to hit,” said Becky Lynch, “They’ll often be that the lines that you’re like ‘That doesn’t sound like she would say that’ But for the most part we’ve gotten to the point where we’ve gotten enough equity and we’ve gotten enough trust that, we get to write our own promos.”
“It’s usually a collaborative process where if I’m comfortable with my writer, [I’ll go] ‘Well what do you think of this. I feel like it’s gotta hit more and I think we could do more with this.’ And a lot of the times they’ll come up with a good line.” (quotes courtesy SeScoops)
Becky Lynch added that when she first came up with the main roster, things used to be a little bit different. Being a newbie, she used to be scary all the time and was literally afraid to speak out about things. At that point, every single word of her promo used to be scripted but thankfully for her, things changed for good as she went on to become a reliable shoulder for the company.
Becky Lynch suffered a separated shoulder during the Raw Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam 2022. Then the night after SummerSlam, she kicked off Raw with her right arm in a sling. In a promo, it was confirmed that she separated her shoulder on that Saturday night PLE. Besides, she also confirmed her babyface turn with the following comment,
“At SummerSlam, I am happy to say I finally remembered who the hell I am.”
