Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey is a dream match in the WWE which never really happened. The two women had multiple physical altercations which eventually went on to produce a three-way first-ever Women’s Wrestlemania main event. But an encounter between the two is a must-see. Chances of getting this match have literally been wiped out, given the circumstances but we do believe that there’re still some hopes left.
Becky Lynch recently appeared on the Out of Character podcast hosted by Ryan Satin to note about this fantasy matchup. While many believe that Ronda Rousey is retired from in-ring competition, The MAN possesses different thinking. The fact that she made a return in WWE following pregnancy and won a championship, will force her arch-nemesis to come out of the extended hiatus.
Rhea Ripley Really ‘Wants To Step Into The Ring With Becky’ On WWE Raw
“Yeah, I do think it will,” Becky Lynch said. “The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll wanna one up me. She’ll probably want to come back in three months or something. And then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”
Becky Lynch was sad about not facing Ronda Rousey
During the build for ‘The Man’ character, the current SmackDown Women’s Champion was supposed to face Ronda Rousey in a traditional RAW Women’s Champion vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion match at Survivor Series 2018. But that plan had to be nixed as Nia Jax broke Becky Lynch’s nose and ended up giving her a severe concussion.
As Becky Lynch was on the sidelines, this gave us the singles match between Charlotte Flair and Ronda instead. During the conversation, the reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion stated that she was upset for not being able to have a one-on-one match with Rousey. She was severely concussed from Nia’s punch and this led her to go through an emotional journey for not receiving that match with Rousey.
“I was pretty devastated, I was also severely concussed,” Becky Lynch continued. “I think that helped the devastation because really, I knew that if this match didn’t happen now, it was going to happen at WrestleMania. I knew pretty quickly that it was a good thing that this had happened, but still, I was just – when you’re concussed, you’re very emotional. I was really devastated that it wasn’t going to happen, even in the hospital.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Becky Lynch was out of action from WWE TV due to pregnancy reasons from last year’s May. After giving birth to baby Roux this past December with husband Seth Rollins, she’s now back, better than ever. Eventually, Ronda Rousey has also given birth to her baby with her husband Travis Browney, last month. She is recovering well during the postpartum as we can hope her to return to WWE in the near future.
