Without a doubt, Britt Baker had a solid year in 2021 where she was able to put herself over as the face of the AEW women’s division. Capitalizing on the performance from a brutal unsanctioned match against Thunder Rosa on March 18th, she went on to win AEW Women’s Championship from Hikaru Shida on May 30th. Since then, she has been holding that gold around her waist.

The accomplishments in AEW allowed Britt Baker to feature in the list of Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) where she was ranked fourth on their top 150 Women’s Wrestlers list for 2021. Baker also graced the magazine’s cover along with CM Punk.

Britt Baker noted that 2021 has been her year but she worked hard for every opportunity she received. She then declared herself to be a pillar of AEW whose momentums won’t come to an end this year,

“2021 was good to me, but not given to me. I worked my ass off and took advantage of every opportunity. No one can deny that I helped build an entire division. I truly am a pillar of @AEW and I’m proud of the year I had. With that being said, 2022 belongs to DMD,” she wrote. “Oh… and I’m a dentist. [smirking face emoji]”

The AEW Women’s Champion also thanked her peers and mentors including the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and coach Jerry Lynn to be in this significant position in her career. She also credited AEW head honcho Tony Khan for her DMD gimmick.

“Eternally thankful for these two guys. The first independent wrestling t-shirt I bought as a fan was a Kenny one. Pretty cool to now call him both a mentor and a friend. Tony has never doubted me, even when it felt like most of the world did! Without these two there’s no DMD,” wrote Britt Baker in another post.
