The main event match of the inaugural WWE Day 1 pay-per-view witnessed, Brock Lesnar, winning the WWE Championship. He defeated Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley in a Fatal 5 Way match to win the most prestigious belt in sports entertainment and thereby go back to the top of the WWE mountain, yet again.

Via this win, Brock Lesnar has now become a 9-time World Champion in the WWE (6-time WWE Champion and 3-time Universal Champion). He’s inching closer to an elite list of superstars who have 10 or more world championship reigns. Plus, he’s also joined another elite list of wrestlers who have won the WWF/E Championship in 3 different decades, per a report from WWFOldSchool.

Brock Lesnar will face Lashley at Royal Rumble

Brock Lesnar has already been booked for his first title defense following his WWE Championship win at Day 1. Over on Raw, it has been announced that Bobby Lashley will challenge him for the title at the annual Royal Rumble PPV event. Lashley defeated Big E, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens in a Number-One Contenders Fatal 4 Way match and earned the right to challenge Lesnar for the title at Royal Rumble 2022.

Heading into the mega match, Brock Lesnar also got back Paul Heyman in his corner on Raw. It was Heyman who introduced the new champion on Raw. The Beast received a huge pop who threw the steel ring steps in the ring, stood on top of them and thanked Roman Reigns, and told him to get well.

Brock Lesnar also that he’s the real current champion and Roman needs to acknowledge him. He then thanked Heyman for making all of this possible due to his free agency. Then Heyman took a shot at Roman saying karma really got the Tribal Chief. One week away from him and he got contracted to COVID-19. Lesnar and Heyman shook hands and went to the back, together to restart their association.
