Ever since her repackaging in the fall of 2020, Carmella has been trying to make her dominance felt on the rest of the women’s division as a heel. She did have an entertaining feud, earlier this year with the former Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks which left her with empty hands. Now, she is trying to get back into the title picture on the blue brand.
As seen on this week’s Smackdown, Carmella started channeling a new shtick. Before her matchup with Liv Morgan, Michael Cole showed us a video from earlier the day where Carmella cut a backstage promo on how we’ve never seen anyone like her. She’s gorgeous, fire, ‘the most beautiful woman in WWE’ and when she would step in the ring with Liv, we won’t be able to take our eyes off her.
Carmella Reminds WWE Universe She Is THAT Bi*Ch In Gorgeous Photos
Carmella posed in the ring now as we see some of her modeling photos flashing across the screen. During the match, Liv Morgan was in control with some offensive moves after sending her face-first into the mat. Liv charged in but she missed as her opponent moved out of the way and came up with a drop toe hold. The Code of Silence submission was then applied for the win.
WWE Star Lacey Evans Announces She’s Having A Baby Girl
Carmella debuted the ‘most beautiful gimmick’ on Smackdown
After the match, Carmella stood tall as her music hit the arena. She called Smackdown ring announcer Greg Hamilton over and whispered something in his ear. Hamilton announces her as the winner, and the most beautiful woman in WWE which appears to be the new gimmick, she’ll be going from now onwards. Fans booed some more as she continued celebrating.
It appears that WWE is setting up Carmella for a feud with Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in due course. Currently, she is booked in a rematch with Bayley at Hell in a Cell in which she is expected to retain and then proceed to find a new challenger.
Previously, while speaking on The Bellas Podcast, Carmella criticized WWE for not focusing on female Superstars, as of later. She explained why it’s “not okay” for there to be only a couple of female Superstars and only one major storyline featuring women despite WWE shows being so long. It seems, WWE creative team has finally focused on her and she can certainly expect to be back on the title picture.
