Charlotte Flair: How WWE Changed Wrestlemania 36 Plans For The Queen

Charlotte Flair, at present, is in the middle of time-off from WWE TV and there’s been a lot of speculations about her return. The Queen may not be active, right now, but she will eventually return as the company already put her into the red brand following the Draft’s 2020 edition.

Looking back to earlier this year, some of the fans were not happy about how Charlotte Flair was treated on the roster earlier this year, and perhaps some in the company could agree with them. According to a report from Fightful Select, a lot of plans were set up by the NXT creative team, but they would have to be approved with RAW.

Charlotte Flair was involved in an NXT Women’s Championship program at the time of WrestleMania which could have done to put over the youngster standing against her but a majority of those NXT plans got shot down. Rhea Ripley was originally planned to win that Mania match, but the plans were changed as Vince McMahon wanted Flair to go over and spend some time on NXT.

Additionally, it was informed that there was also a “big push within NXT to add Bianca Belair” to that match alongside Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley and make it a triple threat at WrestleMania 36. Belair just started to surface on the main roster at that point and the creative team must have wanted to make the most out of her appearances. Obviously, that plan wasn’t approved but it was teased on television.

It was also noted that at least one wrestler in NXT should have known what they were getting into when the angle was booked. It was supposed to benefit those who belonged to the black and yellow brand but then McMahon’s vendetta of putting over Charlotte Flair prevailed. She became a twelve-time Women’s Champion to make a new record while Rhea Ripley’s hopes came crashing down.

As noted above, Charlotte Flair was drafted to the RAW brand in the 2020 WWE Draft but she has been away from TV since June. She went into a hiatus to get done with a cosmetic procedure. There is no confirmed update on when she will be back, but we can expect her to be back by WrestleMania 37 season. There’re some updates available that hint Flair and Andrade will be back on RAW as a pair.
