No matter what, WWE always keeps Charlotte Flair around the championship picture or the main event spotlight. This obviously leads to a backlash by the fans who believe that somebody from the young generation should have taken the spot but that’s not the case. Despite all the backlashes, WWE creative team is always hell-bent on pushing the second-generation talent to the moon.
At some point, fans also get bored to see Charlotte Flair beating her contemporaries of young superstars to win matches or titles. An incident took place during the Money In The Bank pay-per-view back in July of 2021 where Flair defeated Rhea Ripley to win the RAW Women’s Championship.

Fans might have been exhausted to see the repetitive Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley matches which led them to chant for Becky Lynch, throughout the match. It ultimately led the winner to get frustrated. She cared the least about being on live TV and flipped off the fans in attendance by showing off her middle finger. WWE managed to get it censored but that move was criticized, too.

Charlotte Flair didn’t like the mention of Becky Lynch at MITB
While speaking with BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani, Charlotte Flair noted that incident. She apparently wanted the crowd to respect her and Ripley. Hence, she didn’t want the fans to chant Becky Lynch’s name. She also proceeded to reveal that she got in trouble for flipping off the fans at MITB.
“She [Becky Lynch] posted a picture outside the venue. So the fans wanted her. They hadn’t seen her. And I was like, ‘F you, you will have to respect Rhea, you will have to respect me and you’re going to watch this match.’ And it went from those chants to, ‘This is awesome,’” Charlotte Flair stated.
“In that moment when I heard that [Becky Lynch chants from the fans] it was just, I didn’t even like [think], ‘Am I going to get in trouble for this?’ which I did. It was inappropriate. That was not the right way to handle things.”
Charlotte Flair didn’t specifically mention what kind of trouble she got into following that incident but it did not affect her booking, at all. She did drop her belt to Nikki ASH for a brief timespan but starting with summer 2021 to Wrestlemania 38, WWE eventually clad her with gold, anyway.
