WWE Smackdown: Charlotte Flair On Wrestlemania 39 Opponent, “I Might Be Her Nightmare.”

Charlotte Flair has already received an opponent for her Smackdown Women’s Championship defense scheduled for Wrestlemania 39. She is not only confident heading into the title match but also opted to deliver a strong message by mocking her during a promo.

Rhea Ripley delivered one of the best performances of her entire career by going the distance in the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match last weekend. The WWE Raw Superstar having “The Nightmare” nickname last eliminated Liv Morgan to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 39 after lasting in the match over an hour from the number-one spot.

Now, The Queen has responded to the strong promo that her the challenger had to throw at her. WWE cameras caught up with her for a digital exclusive. While praising her current opponent Sonya Deville for her persistence, she also delivered a message to Rhea Ripley with the following comment,

“Rhea Ripley! I am happy she chose me. I’m proud of her for winning the Royal Rumble, especially going one to thirty. I definitely think we have unfinished business, but I also think that I might be her nightmare.”

Charlotte Flair has a winning streak over Rhea Ripley

Ripley had previously lost the WWE NXT Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36. On that occasion, Flair decided to pursue WWE’s developmental brand championship rather than going after the main roster titles after winning the Royal Rumble 2020 matchup.

Then in the summer of 2021, the two women once again had a series of title matches where Charlotte Flair dethroned Ripley from her run as Raw Women’s Champion. After prevailing victorious at Money in the Bank, she also won at Hell in a Cell and then at Summerslam in a Triple Threat to keep her winning streak intact against Ripley. Currently, she is 3-0 in singles matches against Ripley in PLE.

For the right reasons, Ripley has now announced her pursuit of the blue brand title held by Charlotte Flair but it remains to be seen if she switches over to the SmackDown brand en route to WrestleMania 39. This week, Flair successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sonya Deville for the second time in a month’s timespan.
