WWE is gearing up for Crown Jewel 2022 in Saudi Arabia, this weekend. Due to this event being an international show under WWE’s banner, there are a lot of expectations from the show from the professional wrestling fandom. As WWE is prepping up for the annual event, they are also dealing with another threat that revolves around the security of their superstars.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the Saudi Arabia government received a word of warning from U.S. intelligence to brace for an “imminent attack” from Iran. Saudi officials are also under the impression of Tehran could carry out the attacks as a distraction for its public.

With Crown Jewel 2022 approaching closer, the report adds that Saudi Arabia, the United States as well as other states close to the Kingdom have raised military alertness. There’s no confirmed word on whether Saudi Arabia is taking countermeasures or not. The National Security Council indicates that the USA is ready with its own response if it’s necessarily needed.

Crown Jewel 2022 is still set as per the original schedule
According to the reports of PWInsider, many WWE sources said that Crown Jewel 2022 is still set as per the schedule. Since it’s a Wrestlemania-caliber event, it’s unlikely to be canceled unless it’s absolutely necessary. WWE is “hopeful all will be fine.”
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter also noted that WWE is monitoring the situation around Crown Jewel 2022 at this time, “The best term regarding Saudi Arabia would be monitoring the situation. All plans are for the show at this moment, but you can’t control the real world.”
WWE has been hosting shows in Saudi Arabia since 2018 and Crown Jewel 2022 event will be the fourth under the event chronology. The scheduled main event of the show will see Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul. The full match card for the show is given below,
