What To Expect From This Week’s WWE Raw: August 7th, 2017

We are less than two weeks away from the 30th annual Summerslam event and so can expect WWE Raw to be a jam packed edition, tonight. Last week, Smackdown Live has come up with three major matches for the dual brand PPV on August 20th. So, tonight, it is time for the flagship brand to come up with some blockbuster matches for the PPV.

As per the storyline perspective that we have witnessed last week, it is evident that we should hear a series of matchups on this week’s edition of WWE Raw. This will help to hype up the Summerslam PPV, in turn. The show will emanate from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar has been added to this week’s Raw from Canada. He is quite angry with the fact that he will have to defend his title in a fatal-4-way match where he does not get to be pinned or submitted to lose the title. So, he has already threatened the Raw GM to leave the company following Summerslam.

With the rumors surrounding his future status, Paul Heyman will supposedly make some more hints that the beast incarnate might be leaving, for sure. Plus, we can certainly expect him going after his opponents out of pure frustration during the scheduled Last Man Standing match (Reigns vs. Strowman) and also giving a clear message to them prior to the title match.

The Raw Women’s title match is certainly in jeopardy considering that Bayley has suffered an injury on last week’s Raw. According to the latest reports, she will be examined the last time prior to Raw that will decide her future. As per the rumor mill suggestions, she is not going to make it for Summerslam.

In her absence, Sasha Banks will be given the opportunity to face Alex Bliss. We can expect a match between Nia Jax vs. Sasha on the show with the later one coming out as the winner and make the new match official at the biggest party of the summer.

A number of new matches are likely to be added to the match card of the upcoming event. Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt are feuding with each other for the past couple of weeks. Hence, this should be yet another big match.

In the tag team title picture, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose should be given a chance to challenge Sheamus and Cesaro. They have received a beat down from the champions, last week and likely to seek redemption, this week. Plus, a three-way affair should be booked among the Revival, the Hardy Boyz, and the Club.
