Roman Reigns is the biggest face of WWE today and he had been the prime World Champion for three long years. Vince McMahon wanted to build him as the face of the promotion from the very first day of his main roster debut. Even though it was pretty difficult to put him in such a position but finally he is built as “The Head of the Table.”
A lot of fans were not happy with his irregular title defenses. It is somehow affecting the WWE roster as the promotion had been failing to build other main event stars. But WWE is totally obsessed with Roman Reigns. The current World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins criticized The Tribal Chief when he spoke on WWE’s The Bump Recently;

On who he wants to face for the title: “I said it in the beginning. I want the competition. I want anybody from any brand. I don’t care if it’s SmackDown, Raw, NXT, I don’t care if it’s from anywhere across the globe. I want people to come through that curtain, I want them to challenge me, whether it’s a shot at the title, whether it’s the title itself, whether it’s a tag match, six-man, cage match, doesn’t matter to me. I want the fight. I want the excitement. I want to elevate myself and this title along with me.”
On how Roman Reigns picks his opponents: “Just open it up. Roman Reigns hand-picks his opponents. You can see it. He’s been doing it for years. It’s a smart move. It’s a smart move if you’re only interested in yourself. But I’ve been interested in myself for a long time. Myself is great, but also myself is fine. I’m going to be fine, so let’s open it up.

At WrestleMania 38, WWE gave both of their World titles to Roman Reigns and it totally killed the spark of the rest of the roster. For more than one long year, WWE completely failed to build any main event stars. If Roman would have defended his title regularly, there would still be some opportunities.
Finally, WWE introduced a new World title and Seth Rollins won this title at Night of Champions. Triple H claimed that this would be a title that the fans would be proud of. But so far it had been treated mostly as an upper mid card. We seriously hope the World Heavyweight title gets treated equal to the Universal title soon.
