John Cena is one of the biggest superstars to have ever stepped foot in a WWE ring, who carried the load for almost 15 years. He was associated with the company for a long time before transitioning into a Hollywood Superstar. The professional wrestling superstar joined the DCEU in The Suicide Squad as Peacemaker, which was a great success for him.
While the film did great, the success story for John Cena around the movie continued, afterward as he managed to get his character a spin-off series on HBO Max. The first season directed by James Gunn became a huge hit, as fans loved the confused character portrayed by the WWE Superstar.

He was even nominated for an award for this role by the Hollywood Critics Association. It seems that John Cena will soon be revisiting the role, yet again as the second season will soon go on the floors. Peacemaker will make a comeback for season 2, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live. The shooting spot will be in Vancouver, Canada, the same as in season 1.

John Cena earned quite the fame via the Peacemaker series
In more update to the series, James Gunn sent out a tweet to celebrate the birthday of Danielle Brooks, the actor who played Leota Adebayo alongside on Peacemaker. The tweet mentioned that he would see her back on set “in just a few months” hinting that the Peacemaker season 2 production will soon begin. Obviously, no concrete date was given but the cine lovers are happy to learn that something big will be in the pipeline.

Bryan Alvarez also stated this summer that this project was the reason why John Cena didn’t compete in a match at SummerSlam. He made his last appearance on Monday Night RAW on June 27 but he never spoke about his next in-ring stint,
“I can confirm that John Cena is out right now in Canada filming Peacemaker season two. So that’s why there were discussions of SummerSlam, and then he shows up on RAW and is like, ‘I’ll be back someday, I don’t know when, but someday. So apparently, he’s filming Peacemaker instead of doing SummerSlam.”
