Former WWE star and a former WWE NXT Champion Keith Lee who is also a former WWE NXT North American Champion recently talked about his fellow AEW star Claudio Castagnoli and praised him. He compared the current and two times ROH Champion with NXT star Dijak.
Cesaro has been performing in WWE for over a decade and he has always been a solid mid carder. After performing excellently throughout his career he is finally receiving the treatment from WWE he actually deserved. At WrestleMania, he defeated the former four times WWE World Champion which marked his main event status clearly.
Keith Lee Praises Claudio Castagnoli And Compares Him With Dijak
Last year at the WrestleMania Backlash pay per view event, Cesaro challenged the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title. It was the main event of the night and without any doubt it was an amazing match.
This was Cesaro’s first opportunity for the world title in WWE in his long WWE career. Over the years he has been one of the most underrated athletes in WWE, and finally after getting the opportunities, he is showing the world of wrestling what he is actually capable of.
At WrestleMania Backlash 2021 Roman Reigns and Cesaro had a gruesome battle which continued for almost half an hour. This match had been considered as a Match of the Year Contender for 2021. What an amazing match it was! We rarely get to see technical masterpieces nowadays in WWE.
But after this match, for some reason WWE decided to bury him. The promotion completely gave up on his push and by the end of the year he got released from the promotion and a number of months ago he joined AEW and got renamed as Claudio Castagnoli. He defeated Jonathan Gresham to win his first ROH World Championship and recently he defeated Chris Jericho to win the second one.
Keith Lee who is also a former WWE NXT North American Champion recently spoke to the Attitude Era Podcast where he talked about his fellow AEW star Claudio Castagnoli and praised him. He compared him with NXT star Dijak. He said;
“Claudio is someone I relate to as someone I would call a ‘hybrid athlete’, a big, strong dude that can just do outrageous stuff and I feel like he might be that person that could potentially be my next Dijak in terms of match quality.
“So, it’s been so long now, I would put Dijak in my top five but it’s difficult obviously with being on the other side of the pond but I would say Claudio is definitely in the top five.”
