Roman Reigns returned to action over on Smackdown after a hiatus for more than a month. Despite the biggest acquisition of the blue brand, The Big Dog was not there on the B-show for several weeks until Shane McMahon put him into the main event match of last night’s show. He canceled the originally scheduled match between Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler after a brawl broke out between these two.

Then he forced Dolph Ziggler to go up against Roman Reigns with himself, Drew McIntyre and Elias present at ringside. The heels interfered the match to distract Reigns on numerous occasions until he backfired with a super-fly. Thereafter, Kevin Owens arrived to hit Shane with a Stunner. Reigns took full advantage of this and downed Ziggler with a massive spear to pick up the win and earn momentums for Extreme Rules.
Who Stood Tall On Smackdown Tag Team Summit?
Earlier, WWE set up the match between Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens, last week with a sudden babyface turn by the latter one. They actually teamed up to earn the Smackdown tag team title match contender-ship that ended in a nasty manner. Ziggler accidentally super-kicked his partner costing the match and thereby received a stunner by Owens in return.

So, WWE.com announced the inevitable matchup on this week’s Smackdown,
“Though they were given a chance to earn their way into the SmackDown Tag Team Title Match at Extreme Rules by defeating Heavy Machinery, KO and The Showoff could not get on the same page. By match’s end, Owens and Ziggler were trading fists with one another as opposed to Otis & Tucker. SmackDown LIVE went off the air with KO dropping The Showoff with a Stunner, and in the aftermath of that, the two will collide in one-on-one competition tonight.”
We thought it was going to be an explosive contest at Extreme Rules but instead, WWE announced this match on Smackdown. However, the scene abruptly changed as a twist was in-store in the tale. Kevin Owens picked up a fight with Shane McMahon with his fired-up promo as well as hitting him with a Stunner during the main event. So it is likely that a new feud has begun on Smackdown that might culminate via a match.
