Kofi Kingston has taken a much-needed time off from WWE after he appeared on TV without a break over the past few years. Xavier Woods has also been out of action for almost a year, at this point with a torn Achilles Tendon who doesn’t have any return timetable. This gave Big E a chance to enjoy a solo run on the roster, for the time being.
WWE has been showing that Kofi Kingston was injured during the tag team titles Tables Match at Extreme Rules 2020. In reality, he requested to go into a hiatus as he wanted to spend time with his family. He isn’t expected to be out for a long time, at all. In the meantime, he might be getting things back together with his wife and kids at home.
Kofi Kingston Reveals When He’s Expected To Be Back In WWE
While speaking to a recent edition of WWE’s The Bump YouTube channel, Kofi Kingston spoke up about his WWE absence. He said that he’ll be back in the mix when the time seems right. At the moment, he is enjoying his time at home and watching tag partner Big E doing his thing, although it’s quite painful to sit at home and not to be present in the WWE.
“I’m feeling pretty good, to be honest. You know, I’ve been working on my home gym, and it’s allowed me to kind of gradually get back in the swing of things. I’m trying not to push too hard, number one because I don’t want to suffer a setback, you know, and be out for even longer. And number two, I’m spending a lot of quantity and quality time with my family, so I’m just trying to enjoy that.
And when the time is right, I’ll be back,” Kofi Kingston continued. “And right now Big E’s holding it down, you know what I’m saying? So it’s all good and it’s an awesome thing to see him kind of doing his own thing and thriving at that. So yeah, it’s all about just taking my time in terms of getting back.”
WWE To Visit Saudi Arabia By The End Of 2020 Amid Controversy?
Kofi Kingston also noted that he’s an aged man, nowadays who is not anymore in his 20s. He’s spent more than a decade in the big leagues of WWE and the bruises in his body are the proof. So he doesn’t want to take any hurried decision when it comes to making the return.
“I’m at the age now where I’m a lot smarter with my body, so in terms of just coming back and just trying to rush back and get in there, it probably wouldn’t be the best option.” (transcription by WrestleZone)
It’s being noted that Xavier Woods could also be getting ready for his return to the ring, too. He’s keeping things as a secret as he could be accompanying Kofi Kingston and help to re-form The New Day. His Achilles injury is said to have recovered but it did take away a year of his career. Hopefully, the entertaining trio would be back better than ever to spread the Power of Positivity, again.
