At Money In The Bank 2022 pay-per-view event, Liv Morgan won the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match and then cashed the contract on Ronda Rousey, later that night countering the ankle lock submission. Apart from the title match win, she also achieved another statistic in the process and that’s to defeat Ronda Rousey as the third-only superstar after Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

Then SummerSlam 2022 builds began on this past episode of SmackDown where Ronda Rousey said the following to SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan,
“At SummerSlam, you’re going to learn that challenging the Title, is a whole lot easier than defending it.”
Rousey then also proceeded to defeat Natalya by submission. Following the conclusion of the show, WWE officially announced that Morgan will defend her title against Rousey on July 30th at SummerSlam 2022.

Speaking on SmackDown Lowdown, Liv Morgan was asked to comment on her first title defense against Ronda Rousey at Summerslam 2022. Morgan knows that there have been a lot of chatters around her taking advantage of Rousey’s hurt legs at Money In The Bank. But come this SummerSlam 2022, she is intending to prove her critics wrong by taking on a 100-percent fit Rousey and possibly pulling off an upset win.
“No one loves this championship more than me. No one wants this championship more than me. Anyone that’s had it before me or anyone that wants it after. This is mine and anyone that thinks they are willing to fight harder than I’m going to fight for this, I can’t wait to prove them wrong. Watch me,” Morgan quipped around SummerSlam 2022.
Recent reports suggested that Liv Morgan’s Smackdown Women’s Title reign might not last long however, future advertisements show that she could continue with the reign. So, we’ll have to wait and see whether she will be able to retain her title at SummerSlam 2022 or not.
