Paige is unarguably one of the most popular star powers of the modern generation of professional wrestling. She is one of the greatest technical wrestlers to have performed in the WWE. Dubbed the anti-Diva, she was one of the key figures in the company’s Divas Revolution/ Women’s Evolution. To their dismay, the elite competitor opted to leave the brand and join AEW to explore something new.

By her real name of Saraya, Paige shocked the pro-wrestling world when she appeared on AEW Dynamite a couple of months ago. Ever since then, fans remained confused about her potential role in the company as she was yet to be medically cleared. Now that her in-ring return has been confirmed, AEW fans can expect to have a new locker room leader in her.

The role was pretty much similar for her in the WWE although she was a young athlete in comparison to her contemporaries. Starting in 2012, Paige worked in WWE for eleven years. Her stint began with Florida Championship Wrestling (which was later converted into NXT) where she became the first and youngest NXT Women’s Champion.

Paige had a unique debut on WWE main roster in 2014

Paige then made a dream debut on the main roster by winning the WWE Divas Championship, the night after Wrestlemania 34 by defeating AJ Lee. This made her the only WWE NXT and WWE Divas Champion, at the same time. Besides, she also became the youngest WWE Divas Champion, a record that should remain intact for years to follow.

After surrendering her NXT Women’s Title, Paige was transferred to the main roster where she was featured in a solid feud against AJ Lee. Her second main roster title win and the final one in WWE came on August 17, 2014, on her 22nd birthday. This time, too, she pinned AJ Lee at SummerSlam to gain the Divas Championship for a second time.

The neck concussion forced Paige to retire from in-ring competition in April 2018 after remaining on the shelf due to injury for almost one and a half years. After wrestling the best superstars the WWE had to offer, the anti-diva managed factions, became the SmackDown General Manager, and even contributed to WWE Backstage on FOX show. Now, she is scheduled to return to action against Britt Baker at AEW Full Gear 2022.
