Despite her on-screen status over the past several years, Natalya remains a staple figure in the current female roster of the WWE. She is the most veteran who is wrestling in the company since the year 2006. Having a career spanning over 15 years, itself is an accolade, something no other female WWE superstar has been able to achieve in her career.

The Canadian superstar was an integral part of the Divas era which eventually transitioned into the women’s division to bring out more legitimacy around the female superstars. Natalya was also a part of the women’s era before the Divas era who literally saw it all in the locker room.

In her starting year which is in 2006, things were very different for Natalya. She started by working in Japan which led to injuries and general frustration. Being a young wrestler she led all those setbacks got into her. Then, it was a conversation with her uncle Bret Hart and Billy Corgan at the Hitman’s WWE Hall of Fame induction that got her back in the game.

Nattie was recently a guest on “My Love Letter To Wrestling” where she shared an interesting story. The multi-time Women’s Champion said that Bret Hart and Billy Corgan spoke to her that Wrestlemania 35 weekend and it was their words that inspired her to stay in the family business. The female veteran also pointed out that Billy has become an influential figure in her career.

Natalya named influential people for her pro-wrestling career

“There were a couple of really influential people including Billy Corgan who I met at Bret Hart’s Hall of Fame ceremony. He’s somebody that I’m really good friends with today,” Natalya mentioned.

“I remember when I met Billy Corgan at Bret’s Hall of Fame ceremony, we ended up becoming friends. He said, ‘You have to keep going. You have to fight.’ He was telling me stories about his own career and how much he fought. I started listening to more of his music and realized this guy is phenomenal. Natalya also revealed that in the earlier days of her career, she had gone through the hardest times in her career. She was told to be out of action for 9-12 months after tearing the ACL in Japan doing a moonsault. Over the time, she also tore her ACL, LCL, and PCL, and shattered her kneecap. But all these injuries certainly weren’t enough to put down The Queen of Harts who went on to enjoy the longest-running career in WWE.
